About Us

We are a proud Choctaw native American, family owned Christ centered business for over 30 years, and all of our jewelry is made right here in the USA.
Built by the late Robert Edwin Smart in 1984, Cowboy Jewelers is everything he envisioned for a business and family, plus so much more.
Robert had a long rodeo background, after finishing his high school rodeo days, he later attended collage on a rodeo scholarship, graduating with a 3.74 grade point average. He needed some extra credit hours after enrolled in a M.B.A program, so he took a jewelry making course, whereupon he found his calling.
And after receiving his M.B.A. Robert later attended Holland Jewelry School with wife Regina in Selma, AL
They started the name Cowboy Jewelers from there, starting out making handcrafted leather tack, bags, purses and other various leather items, they slowly incorporated their hand engraved pieces into their showcase, and after some time, have grown to specialize in hand bright cut engraved jewelry, beautiful and unique pieces of jewelry with the hard working cowboy/cowgirl, rancher and western enthusiast in mind.

With this kind of freelance lifestyle, it was only a matter of time before their two daughters, Mercedes and Samantha, dove into the world of creativity.
The eldest, Mercedes, upon graduating high school, took an interest in the inner workings of the business, and promoted to assistant manager of the business for 4 years. She since decided to expand her creativity and start her own business where she specializes in native American beadwork and leather designs at Pistol Gypsy Leather.

Samantha took a special interest in jewelry making and leather crafting, she graduated high school and attending a night course of saddle making at Green Country Tech in Okmulgee, Ok with her sister Mercedes, where her love of engraving, drawing and tooling grew. She is one of the currant jewelers and has also promoted to Chief Operating Officer of Cowboy Jewelers, as well runs her own leather line, ChickenTamale designs
It's been just history from there, They started out with rodeo event jewelry, of which we still create those classic designs today. We've also had the honor of attending the most popular stock shows, rodeos, tradeshows and fairs over the years. In recent years we have focused more on our bridal and western wedding rings as well as our very large, ever-growing and popular online customer base.

We thank you, our customers, for your support and for getting us where we are today, and for the many years to come
